In my studio, the drawing of a still life is given great attention.
Still life drawing is one of the best forms for a drawing lesson, a form where practical skills in drawing, both as a child and as an adult are learned and mastered. Still life teaches us to think differently from our everyday logic. The still life drawing makes us penetrate deeply into the very essence of the form of the depicted object. Still life objects can be of various shapes and complexity, which allows for a range of difficulty for the student in a still life drawing lesson. The student will learn a variety of ways to measure and employ basic perspective.
The ability to draw a still life from observation that is directly proportionally is a foundational skill of learning to draw. Take advantage of Drawing 1 to build better drawing skills that support your artistic practice of drawing and painting.
The world of nature and the things that surround a person every day are the best educational tool for the artist. I will teach the student to see what was previously invisible to their eye, teach the student to pay attention to the details from which the subject is built, and also to solve better problems at a higher difficult level in drawing.
Students are recommended to complete some homework and assignments outside the classroom to meet the Drawing 1 learning objectives.
On completion of Drawing 1 and Drawing 2, students can obtain a Drawing Fundamentals Certificate of Completion.
